The Hunger Games and YOU!

In her video Suzanne Collins has said that The Hunger Games was inspired by many real life and current events.
There are parallels between the events of The Hunger Games and to our society and history. Research a person or an event in history and explain how that person or event in history is comparable to someone or an event in The Hunger Games.

I think Peeta set the whole thing up like all that lover boy stuff, because why would he tell the whole capital on T.V that he loves Katniss I think he set it up so he and Katniss could win the Hunger Games together.

OMG!! THIS IS SUCH A ADREDALINE RUSH!!

I think the book is really good because at most of the parts it tells everything about Katniss's perspective about how she is survivng. For example what's going on in Katniss's head, she describes it very well and whenever she jumps in to something such as when Katniss had gone to take the Careers food but ended up blowing it up, she told everything like I can see it happening in my head. So far in the story Katniss has been going through very horrifying/breath taking missions to survive, such as blowing up ALL the careers food and supplies. Katniss went through missions that took away her hearing from her right ear.

My prediction in the book is that Katniss and Peeta might just win The Hunger Games together even though Peeta is in bad condition with the cut somewhere on his body that Cota gave him... THEY WILL SURVIVE.

Chapter 18 was pretty emotional because when Rue was killed by the boy in District 1. I was really shocked when I read that part of the book and I literly had a couple tears coming down from my eyes to my face in that chapter because Rue was just a poor innocent girl that was going into The Hunger Games . Katniss had like a sisterly realtionship with Rue.  If I had a relationship like that with my little sister.I would of been scared to do anything else in the games but then again Katniss is a smart, pro hunting girl that knows how to use a bow and arrow as her weapon. I mean that I don't know any girl that knows how to use a weapon like that. Shes pretty skilled at using it.

Chapter 18 was pretty intense..
I literally had tears in my eyes, when Rue died.
I think Katniss felt like Rue was Prim, but really wasn't.

And when Katniss got her first kill, I thought that was pretty intense because the boy from District 1 was the one who stabbed Rue, and Katniss got very furious, so she had to kill him.

A FIGHT TO THE DEATH

So far, I love the book because it is a survival story. Omg  in the 18th chapter I got tears to my eyes because Rue was killed by the boy from district 1. Then Katniss kills the boy and she put flowers on Rue's body. Then the rule changed, two tributes can go home if the are from the same district. What  do you think, is the rule are fair or not? I think it is fair because you don't have to fight the person you love. I want to know if Peeta and Katniss make it to the end. What do you think, will they?

The exciting part 2

WOW!!!  I think that T.H.G is very diffrent from any other books that I have read before because its about the future instead of the past like most books about fighting or war. My favorite part is when Kattniss killed her first victambecause it was very detailed when the guy took he arrow out of his neck. I predict that in the end of the book Kattniss is going to win the games and go back home and go back to her normal life at home with Gale ,her mom and Prim but i think the Games will change her a bit because when she in the woods she may have flashbacks of people trying to kill her and that might make hervreally scared.

THE 74TH HUNGER GAMES BEGIN.

So far I think that The Hunger Games is a pretty good book so far but there has been some intense chapters and the chapters are getting kind of grusome to read. I also think that we are getting into the better parts of the book because we are getting into a less number of tributes which means more people are going to be trying to eliminate alot of the other people but wait.. theres a new rule. Both tributes from each districts will both win if they are both the last two that are alive.
I think that the rule is fair because if Peeta and Katniss win they will both be happy and I think that the guy talking on the intercom meant Peeta and Katniss.
A few connections I can make to the book is I really care about my family and I'm protective of them sorta like rue and katniss.
I predict Peeta and Katniss are going to be the last alive and win the Hunger Games because at the last part of part 2 Katniss yells out ''Peeta where are you''.
So far I think the main idea of the hunger games is violence and survival I think one main idea is violence because there has been alot of killing lately in the games and there are only a few tributes left and I think survival is another theme because if you are in the games you are going to try to survive and take out as many tributes from other districts as you can and you want to be last so you can win and make your family happy that you got back from the games and not been killed.
I think Katniss's most important skills is with the bow and arrow because shes very accurate with it and because she is accurate with it and she gets food sources easirn on himly.
I think Peeta joins the Career tributes because he wanted to survive longer in the games and them maybe turn on them because later in the book he leaves the career tributes.
What makes Katniss and Rue trust each other is that Rue is trusted by Katniss because Rue reminds her of her sister Prim therefore she wont kill her, and Rue trusts Katniss because of her mocking jay pin because in Rue's district they have alot of mocking jays there and she can sing a song and the mocking jays can sing it back to her.
I wonder if in part 3 Peeta and Katniss team up and try to make it to the end together so they can both win together.
So far im looking forward to see the movie because I really like the book so far and if I like the book I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie to see how different the book is from the movie.

THE SUPRISED ANNOUNCEMENT

Omg,omg.omg!!!!!!!!! Katniss and Peeta have a chance to win together.!!!!!! BUT why did he, the announcer say that? I thank that he is doing this to see if she can not let Peeta die because she is the first girl to be in the final 6 with peeta. So because of this, considering Peeta save Katniss's live lots of times.!!!!!! I really thank that the capitol mite be doing this so Katniss can fall in to a trap because the careers mite cater Peeta to kill Katniss the one who got 11 as her number. I want to KNOW WHAT PEOPLE KNOW so let me know .!!!!!!!!!!

Chapter 17 and 18 was so EMOTIONAL!! I was so sad when Rue died... If my brother died or some really close like a brother or sister I don't think I would pull through like Katniss did. I think Katniss might win because she is very smart and she was really careful with the moves like when she dropped the Tracker Jacker nest and seh also know so plants and things she can eat and she is a pro hunter  ...and now that two people can win from each district I think the games will get really intense. I wonder if Katniss will find Peeta and try to win together? and if she does i hope they will kill the careers!. I predict Katniss  might run into the careers well she is looking for Peeta and that they might try to trap her or follow her to Peeta to kill them both.  I also predict that she might run into the foxed face girl and have to try to kill her.I hope Katniss gets her revenge on the careers especially Cato.

LOVERBOY IS BACK IN THE GAMES !!

OMG Katness has to work with Peeta again , it hasn't talked about him much in  and now all the sudden they have to team up. I'm  confused , Cato said Peeta is done for , but Katness now has to work with him , so does that mean if Peeta dies Katness has no chance of winning ? !! I can make  a connect the hunger game to a real reality show called Big Brother because they had a partner twist that shocked the whole Big Brother house like the game makers shocked the tributes. I also think Peeta joined the Career tributes in the first Place is because i think they threatened to kill him if he didn't join cause I'm pretty sure Peeta would want to start a alliance with Katness not the Careers and I can predict that Peeta isn't dead because of the movie trailer Katness is still trying hard !

My thoughts and the main idea!

So far my thoughts on this book are wow chapter 18 is pretty intense because of Rue's death. I also think it is an intense chapter because Katniss killed her first person and rue is gone so that makes it harder on her because she compared Rue to her sister. But I think it's a great book because it tells kids how hard it is rto survive because kids in our town and bigger cities don't  know how to survive that well because we get food put on our tables and we have lots of clothes to wear and we also have a better education then them. I think that when they made the new rule it is unfair, I think it's unfair because they should only have one person win so that it makes the games more intense and better. Durning that part my emotions were come on Katni ss you can do it and I was also feeling sad because of Rue died.

I think that Peeta joins the careers because later he wants to kill them when he gains there trust.I think this because Peeta is the kinda guy who can play with peoples minds.
I think the reason Katniss is still alive because she is a great outdoors person shes amazing with bow'n arrow she what plants are edible and which ones are not; she has good self-control. I'm pretty sure Katniss and Peeta will win the games together I'm not sure why; i just somehow know,

OMG SHOCKER!!!!

I can't blieve that Rue dies, its so sad because somebody threw a spear into Rue. Katniss probably was crying so much when Rue died. They formed the best allience. Katniss and Rue were so good at hunting. That was so sad why did she have to die? When Rue died it probably felt like Rue was Katniss's sister. I was so shocked when Rue died. They were the best characters in the book. Like why did she have to die ? Rue was the second best character in the book. I think that Katniss will win The Hunger Games because she is really good at hunting and really stealthy. I also think that Peeta will win too because he is good at spying and he also can pretend to be on other teams. This is my opinion what is yours?

Omg the rule that Claudius Templesmith changed is unfair. He says that the two people that are left in the hunger games will win.  It has to be both from the same district. And  i am also really sad when rue got  killed and i'm kinda wondering  will katniss die or  win the seventy fourth annual Hunger Games?

WOW!! that was really intense! I think that Peeta and Katniss are going to win the games beacause they are both very competeive and sneaky!!!! in chapter 19 i think that the gamemakers are going to throw something else in there to get the games really moving along. Rues death was very shocking to me, I thought she was going to die but, a little bit later in the book..... When Katniss threw the wasps nest on to glimmer and the wasps stung  her to death, I thought that it must have been a really painful way to die.I think the new rule is....... well i dont really know because it can be a great rule because is gives the people a better chance to win but it also gives people a better chance to lose to.

I knew Rue was going to die in the beginning (because they all cant win) but i didnt know it was going to be so SAD!! like seriously i was trying to hold back my tears!! but the new rule change in chapter 18 is sooo messed up!! i predect that Katniss is going to find Peeta, then Katniss is going to give him all these suplies to live then hes going to get killed and Katniss will have to fight off everyone by herself with no supplys or maybe Peeta will take advantage of her and steel all her supplys OR just kill her!

Let the hunger games begin, Let the begin for real Cato

 I think the T.H.G is great because it is very action packed and intense.
I can connect to T.H.G by when Katniss is hating people who thinks there better than her I can connect to it by when I was at the hockey game in Carolina someone sitting behind us was making it sound like he was better than us. I think that Katniss is going to go to Peeta fix his leg and win the games but I still not sure if Katniss will win with Peeta or win by herself. I also think that Cato is going to be in the final three with Katniss and Peeta.

I think what keeps Katniss alive is her skill with a bow and arrow because she can hunt tributes and animal with the bow. I think Katniss self control keeps here going because she knows if she yells it will attract unwanted attention. I think Peeta joined the career tributes because he was going to become good friends with the careers, than betray them.I think forming an alliances in the beginning of the Hunger games is a good choice to make because you will a team that you can depend on and by the time its just your alliance left everyone will have gone crazy and be kill each other.


Katniss and Rue form alliance because Katniss can benefit from rue ability to harvest medicines and gather berries. Rue can benefit from Katniss ability to hunt and use a bow and arrow very well. Katniss trust rue because she reminds her of prim her little sister than she loves.I think that Katniss's alliance with rue was form diff rent reasons than the career tributes. Katniss's alliance is form for companionship  as well as hunting skill Rue can learn and gather skills Katniss can learn from Rue.

I would like to say that the book is amazing and I hope we read Catching fire in class.

Last Few Chapters

I myself think the book is a over all great book, I think this is a great book because there has been lots of good and bad stuff in it so far. I also think that everyone has been teaming up and trying to win. I think Katniss and Peeta are going to team up and win the Games for District 12. I think so far that the main of The Hunger Games is friendship, and teamwork because everyone's trying to win the Games and that why I think it's about friendship, and teamwork. I think the skills that Katniss has to stay alive is being good at shooting a bow and arrow. I also think knowing the outdoors would be a great one too. I think Peeta joins the Careers because he was scared to get killed early in the games. Peeta hopes to gain sponsors and to win the Games. Katniss and Rue become friends and want to team up because Rue saves Katniss from the tracker jackers. Katniss gains trust, love, respect.

A sad time for Katniss :(

So far I think it was really sad that Rue died because she seemed so harmless. I was really upset that had to happen. Another part I found very interesting was the part where Katniss throws the cracker jackers hive at the Careers but it was really gross  how Suzanne Collins explained the sting, she said it was oozing and it smelt disgusting, which made me want to gag!!! I cant really realate to it but it sounds like a very hard time for Katniss.

Rule Change!

WOW! That was what my first reaction when I read the different things that happened in chapter 18 such as the way that Katniss made Rue look not so bad when she was lying on the ground, the time that the rule only one tribute could win and that now two tributes could win if the two tributes are from the same district and when Katniss yelled out Peeta's name in the middle of the forest.

I am thinking that thanks to this new rule change I think this will totaly change Katniss' stratagie and it will now be to team up with Peeta even though he is said to be severely wounded as it said a few chapers before this one.

I am also thinking that the rule change is now making it a little bit unfair for the tributes that have only one tribute left next to if that happened earlier in the games.

Dang Doggg!!

 Ehh ....
Reading chapter 18 today was OK but when Rue got killed and Katniss sung to her and put flowers around the woon was  pretty emotional....
But when Katniss got Knifes , Fruit, and a Loaf of bread was pretty cool because now she has more weapons and food so she can try surviving longer.
I think its cool because katniss really dose want to win the games and now she has a better chance to win the games.

OMG I cant believe that rue died it mad me very sad. I am happy that Katniss is still in the games and I think that earthier Katniss will win, or both Peeta and Katniss will win together, But I mostly believe that Katniss and Peeta will win together because they make a good team. I wonder what Peeta is going to think and what Katniss is going to say when they next meet, and talk about an ally together. Maybe Peeta will kill Katniss when all the others are dead instead of sharing the winning title with her. Or mabey the other way around. What do you think?

so far i really think this book is great. suzanne collins i think has a bunch of messages in the story but here's what i think is the morale so far. i think her message is if you want to bring about change it doesnt mattr how powerful you are, all it takes is the courage to stand up for what is right.
