Emily and Ally and their AWEESOOME structure!

  1. 1)Is your building more or less stable when the mass is placed on higher floors?

Well are structure was pretty much stable on every floor but i'd say it was more stable when the mass was placed on lower floors because the lower floor was more stable.

2)Describe how the center of gravity moves as the 100-g mass moves up each floor.

The center of gravity moves when the 100-g mass moves up each floor because on are structure when we placed it on the top it was still very stable but a little wobbly then when placed on the bottom floor it was more secure.

3)After you moved the 100-g mass closer to the edge of each floor rather than in the middle what differences did you notice in the stability of building?

I noticed that are structure was actually pretty stable in both tests but i could tell if i moved it a little bit it would probably fall over when it was on the edge than in the middle.

4)What changes could you make to your design that would make the building more stable when the center of mass is high or near the edge of a floor?

Maybe we could add more straws under our floors or something like that because are building is pretty stable already.

  2. Ally,
You had a very stable strucure! Clearly you paid attention to the reading and class discussions! Well done!

    Emily,
Make sure you answer the questions.
